HITS Health Information Technology & Simulation Lab is an inter professional effort aimed at enhancing consumer and professional health education through the advancement of health information technology. The HITS Lab brings together expertise from multiple disciplines to promote active simulated learning and the development and testing of new health technology. The lab’s latest development is the Interactive Debriefing Application (IDA). This tablet application will engage students as they observe medical simulations.
By visually reforming the way students engage in an educational environment, teachers can cultivate a more productive and efficient learning experience.
The dashboard allows students to see and update their profile, previous simulation evaluations, and a log of completed or upcoming simulations.
The dashboard also allows students know upcoming sessions as well as being able to join active sessions.
The data-capture allows students to reach out beyond observation and learn through evaluation. What did the student do well? What did they do poorly?
This project lasted for three years and is now in the marketing process.
This project was in partnership with my friend and collaborator Quen Eastridge.
